Skin boosters are a type of cosmetic treatment that involves injecting a hydrating substance, typically hyaluronic acid, into the skin. These treatments are designed to moisturise, nourish and rejuvenate the skin from within.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps maintain moisture levels and elasticity. When used as a skin booster, hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate the skin, improve its texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Promoting a more youthful and radiant complexion.
Skin boosters are suitable for men and women and are used to help with dryness, dullness, fine lines, and skin with loss of skin elasticity. Your treatment will be performed by a trained healthcare professional and aestheic practitioner.

What is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is a revolutionary 'under the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. When injected into the skin. The unique stabilised formula allows the gel to stay in the skin for longer having a stimulating activity on the dermal cells. This 'bio-modelling' treatment has long-lasting effects, regenerating collagen and elastin production. Which results in tissue improvement, deeply hydrated skin, tighter skin tone and texture and a lifting effect on the tissue.
Profhilo® is one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage where it would effectively treat skin laxity. Profhilo® is suitable for men and women and offers skin benefits to patients of all ages.

Skin boosters do not alter the shape of the face. It hydrates, targets skin laxity and gives skin that glowy, fresher appearance. Therefore the results look very natural.
The longevity of skin booster treatments can vary depending on brand, skin quality and whether the treatment is maintained over a period of time.
However, skin boosters typically can last anywhere from six to twelve months as a minimum, depending on varying factors.
Full results are seen up to the 4 weeks after the last treatment. If, however, you choose to not maintain the skin treatment with further top-up treatments – the skin will return to its pre-treatment state over time.
Downtime is minimal. As with any injectable treatments, a small amount of bruising may appear. However, this should subside within a few days with no long-term effects. Small, localised bumps may appear at the injection points. These will start to diffuse within 4-6 hours.
No.
A skin booster is not a dermal filler.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) skin boosters and hyaluronic acid (HA) Dermal Fillers are not the same product despite both injectables containing Hyaluronic Acid (HA) as the main ingredient. The two treatments are also not interchangeable when it comes to offering skin ageing treatments as they behave in different ways.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) skin boosters are not cross-linked and are usually much thinner in consistency and therefore have a greater spread. Ultimately, skin boosters can be used to soften fine lines, hydrate, and improve the texture and condition of the skin. On the other hand, hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers are generally used when volumisation, contouring, or augmentation is required in specific areas of the face.
Skin Boosters are injected with a very fine needle for minimal discomfort. There are a total of 10 injection sites. 5 either side of the face.
Numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment. However, unlike most fillers Skin Boosters do not contain the numbing substance - lidocaine. Therefore, they can feel a bit stingy as the product is placed under the skin.
